What is crowdfunding?.

Crowdfunding is a quick and easy way to raise money using the internet and social media. Using an online fundraising platform, you can raise the required amounts through donations from across India to help with any social, medical, personal, or creative need.

Is crowdfunding legal in India?

Yes, online donation-based crowdfunding for social, medical, and personal causes is legal in India. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) considers all forms of crowdfunding legal in India except for equity crowdfunding. Specific crowdfunding organisations are registered under the Income Tax Act as charitable trusts. Contributions made to such donation platforms are eligible for income tax deductions under section 80G.

What is the verification process for fundraiser & fund transfer approval?

We strive to obtain comprehensive documentation related to the patient's medical care and expenses. We communicate with the patient / campaigner / hospital(s) and/or medical institutions and may verify & collect all documents related to the patient, including but not limited to itemized bills, medical certificate / estimate, admission report, discharge summary, medical records, and expense documents. We reserve the right to conduct physical visits and/or photo/ video verification as deemed necessary. Such verification measures may apply not only to patients but also to vendors, medical institutions, and other relevant parties, as applicable.
